✨ Nourishing Cacao Butter Lip Balm Recipe ✨

There’s something so satisfying about crafting your own lip balm—especially when you can infuse it with the scents, textures, and healing properties you love. This morning, inspired by my herbal apothecary books, I whipped up a batch of rich, hydrating cacao butter lip balm with a hint of vanilla and a touch of natural shimmer. It glides on like silk, smells divine, and keeps lips soft for hours!

Here’s how to make your own:

🌿 Ingredients:

  • 1.5 tbsp cacao butter (deeply nourishing, protective)
  • 1.5 tbsp calendula wax (helps lock in moisture)
  • 3 tbsp olive oil (softens & conditions)
  • 20 drops vanilla Medicine Flower extract or essential oil of your choice
  • Optional: natural mica, beetroot powder, or cocoa powder for color/tint

🔥 Directions:

  1. Melt the cacao butter, calendula wax, and olive oil together over very low heat, stirring gently until fully combined.
  2. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly (but not solidify).
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract or essential oils and any natural color powders you like.
  4. Pour into lip balm tubes or tins and let them set at room temperature until firm.

Customize It!
Want a little shimmer? Add natural mica for a subtle glow.
Prefer a tinted balm? Beetroot powder or cocoa powder can create a soft, natural hue.
Looking for extra healing properties? Swap olive oil for jojoba or rosehip oil for added skin benefits.

These make beautiful gifts, and even after handing some out to friends, I’ll still have plenty to last me through the seasons! Try it out and let me know what scents and colors you choose. 💛
